Designing Green Cities Lecture Series

This lecture series offers designerly perspectives on greening cities and bridges theory and practice in landscape architecture, urban design, urban forestry and urban ecology.

The series addresses the integrative and exploratory capacities of design through illuminating discourses that take the landscape as basis to create healthy, climate proof and socio-ecologically inclusive cities.

Speakers from practice and academia exchange ideas and showcase practical applications of landscape-based urbanism, forest urbanism and ecological urbanism.

There are three sessions:
  • 29 September 2022: Landscape urbanism (session chair: Steffen Nijhuis)
  • 20 October 2022: Forest Urbanism (session chair: Rene v/d Velde)
  • 24 November 2022: Ecological Urbanism (session chair: Nico Tillie)
The lecture series is initiated by Steffen Nijhuis and organised by TU Delft Landscape Architecture and Green Cities Europe with generous financial support of the European Union.
